Shijie Yu
Doctoral Student
Shijie is a PhD student in the Durrant group. She is currently working on transient optical studies of metal oxide photoelectrodes for solar-driven water splitting. Her research focuses on back electron-hole recombination and temperature-dependent behaviours of metal oxides, focusing on hematite, through spectroelectrochemical measurements. She holds an MSci degree in Chemistry from Imperial College London. Outside of her research, Shijie enjoys a balanced lifestyle through a variety of activities, including badminton, swimming, hiking, and, whenever possible, catching up on sleep.
